Hermin Pourtahmasbi is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals navigating complex emotional, relational, and life transitions. She graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and prior to entering the mental health field, she spent over 15 years in healthcare. During that time, she developed a strong awareness of how stress, anxiety, avoidance, and trust show up in real human interactions. That experience continues to shape her clinical presence - steady, attentive, and focused on creating a sense of safety without pressure.

She is drawn to working with people experiencing anxiety, trauma, family conflict, identity concerns, and relational challenges. In her work, she pays close attention to both verbal and nonverbal communication, often helping clients slow down and make sense of emotions that feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to articulate.

Hermin’s approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and systems thinking, with an emphasis on understanding how a person’s environment, relationships, and internal experiences interact. She believes that meaningful change develops through consistent connection, curiosity, and a space where clients feel genuinely heard.

Outside of her clinical work, she values practices that support grounding and reflection, including movement, quiet time, and time with family. She brings that same sense of steadiness into the therapy room, aiming to meet clients where they are and move at a pace that feels safe and collaborative.
